The latest example of this can be considered the new Redmi Note 11S. This is a 4G smartphone that surprised us, as the company previously released the Redmi Note 11T 5G. The biggest highlight of the Note 11S is its 108-megapixel rear camera. This is the same sensor that the company uses in the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, released last year. But this time the starting price of the phone remained low. Soon, however, the Redmi Note 11 Pro series will also be on the market. So where does the Redmi Note 11S fit in this series? And does it make you buy this phone as your next smartphone? Decide with the help of this review.
Redmi Note 11S price and options
Redmi Note 11S is available in three variants. Its version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage costs Rs 16,499. At the same time, it costs 17,499 Rs for 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory. The best option comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is priced at Rs 18,499.
Redmi Note 11S design
The design of the Redmi Note 11S is too simple for my taste. Its versions in blue and polar white still attract a little attention, but I had the black review device, which felt pretty boring. The workmanship of the plastic frame and back panel is quite good and the phone was quite comfortable to hold. Weighing 179 grams, it does not feel heavy and is not too thick. The main camera of the phone protrudes slightly from the other cameras. The phone does not feel stable when held on a flat surface.
Xiaomi has provided a 6.43-inch AMOLED display in the phone, which has a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Other features of the display can not be called unusual. It has a peak refresh rate of 90Hz and a basic sampling rate of 180Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is given to protect the screen. FHD + display resolution provides sharp visual images and attractive colors. The refresh rate is set to 60Hz by default, which you must set yourself to 90Hz.
The phone supports dual nano SIM and has a microSD card slot. The card slot will be useful as the maximum built-in memory of the phone is 128 GB. The device has dual speakers, a Type-C port and an IR emitter. A headphone jack is also available. The phone comes with an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance, which is quite rare in this price segment. The box also includes a 33W quick charge adapter, USB Type-C cable, SIM card removal tool and case (cover).
Redmi Note 11S specifications and software
This latest Redmi smartphone is equipped with MediaTek Helio G96, which is powerful, but its efficiency is lower, as it is made in the old 12nm production process. Redmi Note 11S supports dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5 and all major satellite navigation systems. It has a 5000 mAh battery that lasts at least all day when fully charged.
The Redmi Note 11S works with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 11, not Android 12. If you have recently used a Xiaomi phone, then you will find this phone easy to use. Many applications are pre-installed in the phone. There are also topics, shortcuts and gestures. All third-party applications that come with the phone can be removed, but first-party applications such as Mi Pay and others. will not be removed.
Redmi Note 11S performance and battery life
It handles basic games and applications with ease. Some of the applications included in MIUI 13, such as GetApps, may be concerned about spam. The power button has a capacitive fingerprint sensor that works well for my use. Thanks to the AMOLED panel you can take advantage of functions such as always on display. It could have been cheaper, but it’s only active for 10 seconds. Therefore, display cannot always be called “always on” in the true sense.
The video viewing experience was good, but the sound of the stereo speakers was not well balanced, as the lower speaker gave clearer sound quality than the headset. The games worked well, but some heavy games could only work at low graphics settings. For example, the game Call of Duty: Mobile does not show the option for ‘High’ settings in the graphics. The game experience was smooth, but it wasn’t what it usually is.
Xiaomi says it has a liquid cooling system that keeps the phone cool during heavy use. But after playing Call of Duty for 30 minutes, both the back panel and the frame of the phone became quite hot. In the test results, the phone performed as expected. Its reference results were lower than the Redmi Note 11T 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 810. The phone scored 3.10,732 on AnTuTu and 51 frames per second in the T-Rex test of GFXBench.
The phone’s battery life is pretty good. With a capacity of 5000 mAh it lasts all day. The phone has support for 33W fast charging, which helps the battery charge very quickly.
Redmi Note 11S cameras
If you look at the camera specifications of the Redmi Note 11S, then it has a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 sensor, which is the main camera of the phone. By default, it takes 12-megapixel photos, but you can also take photos with 108-megapixel resolution. In bright sunlight, the details of the photo were good, but the color saturation became too much. After the Pro Color mode given in the camera, the color intensity increased further, making the photo look artificial. The results were good with a resolution of 108 megapixels and the color balance was more visible. In the photo, things looked quite natural.
The phone had difficulty with autofocus while taking close-up photos with the main camera. It was only after touching the viewfinder a few times that the right focus was achieved. The main sensor failed to take good photos in low light. There was no big difference in the quality of the photos even at a resolution of 108 megapixels. The use of night mode was then left as a last resort. After switching to it, it took the camera a few seconds to take a picture, but the details and exposure improved. One thing was surprising, you can’t use night mode with Ultrawide or Selfie camera. It hurts a lot.
Speaking of its 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, the colors looked exactly like the photos taken during the day, which is good. The photos became quite blurry in low light and the colors were also disappointing. The phone has a main macro camera of 2 megapixels. That’s why his results were not good. A 2 megapixel depth sensor is also provided.
The selfie camera is 16 megapixels and the result is good in the photo during the day. However, the sharpness was a little more visible in the portrait. Indoor selfies with ambient light were much better, but at night the quality of outdoor photos was very poor.
Redmi Note 11S can only record videos up to 1080p. Stabilization is available in the video. The video quality was average during the day. The video quality in low light was quite poor and was disappointing for a phone in this segment.
The Redmi Note 11S can be said to be an option until the arrival of the Redmi Note 11 Pro series. And if you’ve decided on a Redmi phone, then you can check out last year’s Redmi Note 10 Pro, which turns out to be a much better option at the same price. The 108-megapixel camera of the Redmi Note 11S is its biggest attraction, otherwise, if you look at the other sensors, then this phone will be called medium. At this price, its processor is also not as powerful and at the same time the phone does not provide 5G connectivity.
I believe you have to wait a few days before buying this phone, because better options will be available soon.

iQoo Neo 6 Review: A Powerful Phone at a Reasonable Price!
iQOO Neo 6 Price in India
The iQoo Neo 6 is priced at Rs 29,999 in India, which comes with the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. Its top model comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, which costs Rs 33,999. The iQoo Neo 6 can be purchased in Dark Nova and Cyber Rays colors.
iku neo 6 design
The iQoo Neo 6 phone is a rebranded model of the iQoo Neo 6 SE that was launched in China earlier this year. Neo 6 is a large smartphone in terms of dimensions and weighs 190 grams. The phone has a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a punch-hole design at the top for the selfie camera. Display bezels are thin. The frame of the phone is made of plastic and is kept flat on top and bottom.
iQoo has added an IR (infrared) emitter that sits near the secondary microphone on the top. At the bottom there is a slot for a USB Type C port, a speaker and a SIM tray. The back panel is made of plastic with curved sides. The phone is quite comfortable to hold. Its right side is narrow and carries a thin power button and volume rocker.
The dark new color of the phone looks quite elegant. It has a gradient finish that shows a mixed shade of dark blue and bright blue. If you want a flashier phone, then you can also check out its Cyber Rage variant. The phone’s camera module will grab your attention. It has a two-tiered design on which the Neo branding is placed, which is seen separately.
The company has also provided a transparent case inside the phone box. The back panel has a matte finish, so fingerprints don’t fall off so easily. You also get a USB Type C to 3.5mm audio adapter, which is a good thing.
iQoo Neo 6 Specifications and Software
Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC is provided in iQoo Neo 6 which is the most powerful processor for this price range. The Mi 11X competes directly with this phone, which has a similar chip. iQoo says it has included a liquid cooling system in the phone to keep the processor cool.
The Neo 6 has a Full HD Plus E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 360Hz touch sample rate that can go up to 1200Hz in some games. The display is also HDR10+ certified and its brightness is 800 nits. iQoo has also provided stereo speakers in the Neo 6, but the phone does not have an IP rating.
This iQoo phone supports Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, four 5G bands, dual 4G VoLTE and five satellite navigation systems. You don’t get NFC in this. iQoo Neo 6 has a 4700mAh battery and supports up to 80W fast charging. You also get a compatible charger in the box.
Talking about the software, it runs on Funtouch OS 12 which is based on Android 12. The company has promised two years of Android updates and 3 years of security updates with the phone. Its user interface is almost similar to Vivo X80 which I reviewed recently. Too bad I have the same experience with bloated software in this as well. Some applications may be uninstalled. The browser keeps sending spam notifications throughout the day which is quite annoying.
iQoo Neo 6 performance and battery life
iQoo Neo 6 has a powerful processor and there is no lag in the phone even with prolonged use. I had its 12GB variant on which I could multitask, switching between apps very comfortably. I didn’t see any apps reloading at any point. The phone has an extended RAM feature and can use up to 4GB of system memory as RAM.
I enjoyed watching videos on the phone’s AMOLED display. Stereo speakers make the experience even better. The refresh rate is high, so scrolling is smooth in apps and menus. The company has set the Smart Switch refresh rate as the default. It runs at 120Hz most of the time at this setting.
iQoo Neo 6 has an in-display fingerprint scanner which is quite reliable and never gets damaged during use. FaceUnlock also works in a similar way. The phone scored well in benchmarks. Its AnTuTu score is higher than the OnePlus Nord 2 with 729,331 points. In Geekbench 5, it scored 983 and 3074 points in single and multi-core. In the GFXBench graph, it scored 50fps in the Car Chase test. Users who want good performance, this phone will not disappoint in terms of results.
I played Call of Duty: Mobile on it, which by default was running on very high graphics and had the frame rate set to high by default. I played the game for 20 minutes in which the battery dropped by 5%. The phone didn’t heat up, which explains its liquid cooling capability.
I loved the battery performance of this phone and it lasted comfortably for one and a half days. In the HD video cycle test, the phone lasted 21 hours and 17 minutes, which is quite impressive. Its 80W fast charger charged the phone 83% in 30 minutes and the phone was fully charged within 50 minutes.
iQOO Neo 6K camera
The iQoo Neo 6 features a triple camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary lens with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 116-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel camera. The camera app is very easy to use and looks similar to the Vivo X80 app. The main camera takes 16-megapixel photos by default, but you can click full-resolution photos if needed.
His daylight landscape photos were accompanied by detail and subjects were easily recognizable even from a distance. Words written on distant buildings can also be read. AI optimization is available in the phone which improves the contrast in the output. The ultra-wide camera has a wider field of view and gets the same color profile as the main camera.
The phone takes close-up photos with clear and full details. This creates a natural bokeh effect between the background and the subject. Edge detection was good in portrait mode. The macro camera also captured extremely close-up shots.
The phone proved to be very fast when shooting a low-light scene, for which it held the shutter open for a long time. Thanks to this, the image was captured with a clear and detailed picture. In very dark areas, the phone itself suggested switching to night mode.
The phone’s sensor captures the selfie in full resolution. The app adds a beautification filter by default, but it can also be adjusted or disabled if needed. In daylight, the skin tone is accurate to the photo. In low light, the screen flash is activated automatically for better results. Edge detection was good in selfies taken in portrait mode and the level of background blur was also adequate.
Its primary rear camera can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second. Its selfie camera can also shoot videos at this resolution and frame rate, which is rare. Footage was fairly stable in daylight, but motion in low light was a bit shaky. The camera app has a dual video mode so that the main and selfie cameras can record videos at the same time.
If you are looking for a 30k budget smartphone then you can keep this phone high on your list. The phone’s performance is pretty good, as you’d expect from a device with a Qualcomm chip. The promise of Android and security updates makes it future proof. In my opinion, its base 8GB variant seems better value for money.
I don’t have many complaints about it other than the pre-installed bloatware on the phone. If you pick up the phone for video recording purposes, then be aware that it doesn’t perform as well in low light.
If you want pure software, you can look at the Motorola Edge 30. If you can’t compromise on performance, go for the Mi 11X and OnePlus Nord 2, which are good alternatives in the same price range.

Now the company has announced the new model of this smartphone, Nokia G11 Plus. However, the addition of the Plus to this Nokia smartphone isn’t really an upgrade over the original model when it comes to specs.
